Nail Surgery

Painful toenails

Many people experience pain and discomfort caused by troublesome toenails. In the majority of cases we are able to permanently resolve these problems by nail surgery which is carried out here in the practice under local anaesthetic and usually takes less than an hour.

When might you need nail surgery?

A number of conditions may require or benefit from nail surgery but by far the most common is an ingrowing toenail. This can be caused by a number of factors including poor nail cutting, picking rather than cutting nails, awkwardly shaped or damaged nails and unsuitable footwear. These toenails frequently become infected and are often very painful.

What do our clients say?

Due to worsening problems with ingrowing big toe nails, I decided to take advice at The Foot Health Practice.

My feet were examined and I was advised that the best long-term solution would be nail surgery. I decided for total removal of both big toe nails the following week.

The surgery was of the highest standard, while being relaxed and non-stressful. After the painless procedure, dressings were applied and I was given full instructions for aftercare. This included a supply of dressings and materials needed for my home use as part of the total package.

Aftercare appointments were made and in my view the standard of care received could not have been beaten.

Overall, I would totally recommend this practice.
